Sweeping aside all challengers before them during the regular season, Nerang 1st grade stand on the cusp of an undefeated season.

To claim the Phil Temperton Cup by knocking over the reigning champs one last time in 2024 would make their feat all the more impressive.

Adding to the occasion, the Bulls have the chance to do it on their home turf - an ending Hollywood could only write.

Bulls captain Sheldon Fidow joined us for a chat about the big occasion and what it means to the community.

GCDRU: Despite the Knights chasing their fifth straight title, you must acknowledge that favouritism sits with the Bulls after your brilliant season?

Fidow: Being favourites has never been on our minds all year, but in saying that, we are confident in our game and enjoy the challenge that is the Knights.

GCDRU: Does playing at home add pressure or make it easier for your team?

Fidow: No, it's not extra pressure.

We feel privileged to play at home for the final and to get all grades through is a massive achievement - but we all know there’s still a game to play.

GCDRU: Undefeated with one game to go...what's been the source of inspiration behind this campaign?

Fidow: There's been a full buy in by the playing group and awesome coaching staff throughout the club that’s got us this far.

GCDRU: You would have caught a glimpse of the Knights run to the grand final. What have you liked about them?

Fidow: I was super impressed with the Knights on the weekend.

They’ve showed time and time again they know how to win the big games, so it's exciting to play them this weekend.

GCDRU: Who are you looking for in your team to be the difference maker? Who brings that X-faxtor to your side?

Fidow: We have X Factor all over the park, so I'm not worried about that.

We just need to focus on what we can control.

GCDRU: Regardless of the outcome, it'll be a special day for the Nerang faithful. What would a victory mean for them?

Fidow: I know it’s been a long time between premierships, so it’ll be super special to win for the club and the whole Nerang community.

We’ve felt the love all year, so we're super grateful and ready to get it done for them.

The Bulls take on the Knights for the 2024 Phil Temperton Cup this saturday at 3pm at Nerang.
