2015 BLK 1st Grade Rugby season kicks off this Saturday

The BLK Queensland Premier Rugby season kicks off this Saturday, March 7, with eight clubs in contention for the Michael Summers Memorial 1st Grade Trophy.

BLK, GCDRU’s official apparel partner, this year becomes the 1st Grade Rugby competition’s naming rights partner.

GCDRU’s Rugby Manager, Heath Claydon, believes the competition will be further strengthened by having BLK on board throughout the 2015 season.

“We’re pleased to have BLK - who have been a partner of Gold Coast Rugby since 2008 - as naming rights partner for Premier Rugby in 2015. The competition has gone from strength-to-strength over the last few years and has cemented itself as a critical part of the pathway for Queensland Country,” Caydon said.

Eight teams will once again be in contention for the Michael Summers Memorial Cup in 2015 – Helensvale Hogs, Palm Beach Alleygators, Surfers Paradise Dolphins, Griffith Uni Knight’s, Nerang Bulls, Coollangatta Tweed and Bond Pirates and reigning premiers for the last two years, Gold Coast Eagles.

The first round will see these teams begin their campaigns with the Grand Final replay with Surfers Paradise Dolphins hosting Palm Beach Alleygators  at Albert  Park,Bond Pirates will take on Coolangatta Tweed at Pizzey Park, Griffith Uni Knight’s will  travel to Glennon Park l to face the Nerang Bulls  and the ‘BLK Match  of the Round’ will see a 2014 Grand Final replay with Gold Coast Eagles hosting Helensvale Hogs at James Overall Park.
